In fact, Mouth breathing affects more than just the alignment of the teeth.
If you are not breathing through your nose, your tongue falls into the back of your throat while you sleep, narrowing your airway. This can cause snoring and shallow sleep, and even children can develop sleep apnea.
What happens during the day when sleep quality declines? You're more likely to experience symptoms like, "I can't get up in the morning," "I feel foggy in class," "I'm restless," and "I get easily irritated." It is often thought to be a personality or motivation issue, but in fact, it may be due to oral problems.
In addition, if the muscles of the mouth are not used properly, the chewing power will be weakened and the child will have a habit of swallowing without chewing well. This also affects the development of the jaw and leads to a lack of space for the teeth to line up.
It's not "just a set of teeth". Oral health is the foundation for sleep, concentration, growth and development - your child's body and mind.
In the next issue, we will discuss how to align your teeth without wires.
